The EBC Symposium, organized by the European Brewery Convention (EBC), gathers brewing experts and scientists from across Europe and the world to present and discuss in a closed setting the latest research, innovation and trends on a specific topic in the brewing industry. In 2018, alongside the EBC Symposium “Trends in Filtration” (which is part of The Brewers of Europe Forum, 7-8 June, Brussels, Belgium), EBC organizes a symposium on “Recent advances in Hop Science” for which experts are invited to submit a paper in view of oral presentations.
The EBC Hop Symposium welcomes the submission of original contributions for oral presentations only, covering the following areas of expertise:
- Recent developments in hop breeding and agronomics
- Hop analysis: Latest trends and laboratory methods
- Hop flavour and chemistry
- Application of hops in the brewery, including dry hopping
- Hops, beer and health
The abstract should have a length of between 150 and 250 words and accompanied by a mini-CV outlining the presenters current work or research (100 to 200 words), as well as a portrait photo (size < 1 MB).
