Frans J. Kok PhD is full professor of Nutrition and Health and Head of the Division of Human Nutrition at Wageningen University, The Netherlands.

Kok was trained in Human Nutrition at Wageningen University and in Epidemiology at Harvard University, Boston, USA. His scientific expertise covers topics such as diet in disease prevention, energy balance and body composition. In developing and emerging countries his research activities are focused on both deficiency disorders and ‘modern’ health problems.

Frans Kok authored around 300 original scientific publications and is editor of three textbooks ‘Personalized Nutrition – Principles and Applications’, ‘Introduction to Human Nutrition’ and ‘Biomarkers of Dietary Exposure’.

Frans Kok is member of several scientific committees, including the Health Council of The Netherlands. Kok has been active in many European courses on nutrition and health and also contributed as faculty member in courses in the USA, Africa and Asia.
